SmartZoom is an e-learning platform for digitized microscopic (mainly, but not exclusively, histological and pathological) specimens and radiological images.
The platform allows for uploading directly from the microscope, their storage, and further processing by the teacher/researcher (incl. creating learning units and uploading cases). Digital specimens prepared like this can be used in research and classes – there is a possibility of integration for Moodle courses.
The main advantages of the SmartZoom platform:
- Annotation and comments, both by teachers and learners,
- Morphometry of distances and areas
- Synchronous and asynchronous comparison of multiple specimens side-by-side
- Collaborative working – the possibility of sharing within study circles, between CU faculties and even experts outside CU.
SmartZoom works without software installation on all smartphones, tablets, laptops, or PC/Mac.
The SmartZoom platform was co-funded by the Central Library and is available for these faculties:
First Faculty of Medicine, Second Faculty of Medicine, Third Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové, Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen, Faculty of Science.
