⇒ Moodle system at Charles University
We currently use version Moodle 3.11. The news that the new version brings will be presented at the first training (cz) of the autumn run on 13.9. 2021 see the educational portal.
Due to the increase in the number of new courses, we use more installations, which are distinguished by colour, but their interfaces and functions are the same.
dl1: Moodle 1 (red moodle): for teaching in the CU application for the establishment of a course
dl2: Moodle 2 (green moodle): for teaching in the CU application for the establishment of a course
dl3: Moodle 3 (blue moodle): for testing and admission procedures in the CU application for the establishment of a course
dlcv: Moodle for further education (salmon moodle): for CU courses with external users entry application for the establishment of a course
dlk: Moodle for hosting (light blue moodle): for hosted external courses send the request to firstname.lastname@example.org
mooc: Moodle for open courses in EN (red moodle): for MOOC courses in English entry send the request to email@example.com
The following applies to all Moodle:
- Moodle support contacts can be found zde.
- Instructions for working with Moodle can be found (cz) zde.
- Moodle training records can be found (cz) zde.
- MOODLE OFFICE: application forms for creating / reassigning / deleting / backing up courses can be found zde.
The person who submitted an application for a course is the owner of that particular course. The course owner can add additional teachers to the course. Moodle administrators do not register additional teachers to the course, unless requested so by the course owner. Administration of the course, such as reset, changing the placement, migrating to another Moodle instalation, back-up or deletion, can only be communicated with the owner.
Who, besides the owner, has access to the course?
In addition to the owner and the intended users of the course, only the contact persons from the Moodle support from the Central library of Charles University have access to the course:
- Mgr. Alexandra Polášková
- Mgr. Tomáš Blümel
These people enter courses only for system administration and for user support. They are bound by secrecy about the content of the courses and therefore, of course, they do not provide this information to anyone.
Why is there the “dl” abbreviation in the Moodle instalation address?
The abbreviation “dl”, which stands for “distant learning”, originally refered to the assumed main purpose of Moodle; distat studies. Nowadays, the use of Moodle greatly extended and is mostly used for so-called blended learning (traditional education setting combined with online tools). However, we have kept the abbreviation for nostalgic reasons.
|Some faculties have their own Moodle instalations:
- Protestant Theological Faculty
- Faculty of Humanities
- Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen
- Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové
- Faculty of Law
